IWATA GODO and IGIP jointly published an advertisement article in Nikkei Mook “Space: Infinite Business Frontier” (released on July 16, 2024). The article was prepared by members of the Space Team*, which was launched this spring.

The article provides an overview of the legal framework in space-related intellectual property, followed by a concise explanation of two key practical issues:

-the relationship with the economic security framework, and
-the handling of dual-use (civil–military) technologies.

These points are discussed from perspectives relevant to research and development as well as business strategy.
